Whats the difference between the Elite and Pro systems..?
other than one is black and one is white... Also one has a 100GB more.
I know the pro uses component HD cables... but can I hook that up to my monitor? (VGA and DVI-D inputs only) and whats the resolution output on that compared to the elite..?
Basically... I'm not sure which to buy.
Want for Halo 3 and Gears of War.  _________________

youve basically explained the differneces, there arnt any more, i have a normal launch 360 and it can hit out a maximum resolution of 1920x1280 on vga, though my screen cant cope with that resolution!
So bascally a normal 360 will suit you fine for vga no matter what your screen's resolution, just depends on whether you want the extra hard drive basically...oh and black finish 
for vga, you will need to buy an extra cable, i got one for about a tenner i think _________________

right....the only difference between the standard 360 and the elite are as follows
Black finish...
Bigger HDD...
Improved cooling.
thats it...
the question is...looks, or price? whats more important?

its also has HDMI
aslo you can buy a hdmi to dvi wire, i have one for putting my pc onto my tv

Not many people can tell difference between 1080i & 1080p. You can also buy the HDD seperate & get a cable to transfer old data to new drive.
So if you already have a 360 Premium no need to buy an Elite.
If you dont have a 360 then buy the Elite.

Well. Looks like I'll be buying and Elite at the weekend with Halo 3 and LIVE. God I love 10% discount. Bout £320 in total.  . 
Can I get a HDMI to VGA cable premade at maplins ya think?  _________________

note - you may need a converter for the audio to go into pc speakers such as this_________________

ive seen somewhere that the new premium console has HDMI port as well so only difference is colour and HDD. Its being brought in quietly so they can sell of the old premiums first.

Yeah, I bought the PRO version, it has a HDMI Port on it and the old thing... anyways... bought the VGA with Sound Apadters and Phono Port converter for £20 from game.
XBox 360 PRO (Not that crappy ripoff Core System...)
Microphone
Controller
Blue Dragon - (Game)
Halo 3
That was all for £250 in Toys 'R' Us.
Bought another controller with a Play and Charge thingy too. Another £48 and lastly the VGA Adpater... £20.
Total of roughly £320
So... Gear of War will be my next buy.

dont buy an xbox just for halo, its a very average game. the xbox will only brake anyway. buy a ps3 and get COD4 and haze when thats out
