try goin back to your old monitor and setting the resolution to the resolution of your new TV
if the res is too big then a tv will not display it

if your screen has a vga input, try that aswell, my samsung tv doesn't recognise hdmi signals from a pc so i had to use vga for it instead

VGA port is just your standard PC to monitor cable for your normal monitor
and your refresh rate should be in the same place as your res : /

it uses a different plug than hdmi so yes you would need a different one (dvi to vga)
but unless you already have one, look on google to see if other people have had the same problem and if the vga cable solved it (don't need to go out and buy one if it won't work )
you can change your refresh rate by right clicking on the desktop and going to properties, the settings tab, advanced, the monitor tab and finally setting the refresh rate press ok twice and that's it

100mHz!!! 1337zor, hehe im sure you mean 100Hz
Yeah, use vga a lot of tvs dont accept dvi connections from a pc for some reason, i believe your graphics card has to be HDCP enabled, ie have a HDMI port, if it didnt come like that then your gonna have to use VGA, no real biggie tbh
