Heard on the old rumour mill that the likes of Comet, Currys etc... are going to be bunging out some PS3's on a first come first served basis for around £100 in the near future in the build up too xmas.
Source is an employee at Comet and I'm going to be trying to my best to wangle one without waking at 3am, know what I mean?  _________________  LINUX : If it was any good, they'd charge for it. how the hell do you think they could possibly make any money at all by selling them for £100....? sorry to spoil it for u but it is highly unlikly. seeing as they havnt been doing too well atm anyway

well...say, 100 people get a ps3 for only £100...they go home and play it for
a few days..then they tell all their mates how "amazing" the new ps3 is. then
they suggest to their mates "you should go buy one, i got mine in comet"
soo all the mates go to comet to get their ps3..but oh, look...the price has gone
back up to £300, but they want it soo badly now...so they think bugger it..ill
pay the extra money. i want one.
case closed.

they dont make any profit on the hardware anyway, at full price i believe that make a small loss, so a large loss at £100, they do however make their money from the games and other stuff. for example the £20 remote's and the £35 controllers.
