Just ordered myself a new pc.
This one with XP:

I added a Sparkle 8800GTS 320MB for 200£.
But I am having doubts about the card.

Should I go for the Sparkle 8800GTX 640MB for 300£ or isn't there much of a difference.[/img]

Have a look at this: http://techreport.com/articles.x/11830/1

It looks like no change from usual, if you want to crank the textures up to max and play at higher resolutions get the best.

it really depends on your res. but get the 640 GTS in my book

1280x1024 - GTS

1680x1050 - GTS is still fine for me

higher - GTX

Coming DX10 games might be more demanding and the extra power might be needed but by then there will be another revision - only if ATI get there arse into gear.

Well... I'd agree. But if you get a GTS with high res monitor.... Get the 640MB Version. I have one, play all my games with 1680x1050 and always leave my other monitor on (1024x768).

GTX your also likely to need one hefty sized brick of a PSU to power the damned thing too.

Dual Core... AMD have a different way of advertising their Dual Cores... its actually TWO 3GHz cores... Don't get confused and that does not mean double the power.
