Yeah got 4 different ones for checking out various things (speedfan, cpu-z, core-temp, uGuru) all claiming to be correct. I just gave the highest value I've found so far. It doesn't sound right to me either, but where possible I have downloaded the latest beta version as I know the Quad cores don't always get reported right.
EDIT: Tat doesn't seem to run on my comp. Can't remember whether I downloaded a beta version or not, I'll have a look tomorrow
EDIT2: I've decided speedfan is worse than useless for a quadcore, it's reporting temps of 7C for each core
Will just stick with Core Temp beta as at least that has a reasonable value!
