Anyone know of any GOOD free, UML 2 compliant modelling programs?

I've got Microsofts *insert name here* - but it's not UML 2, it's annoying and it's a pain in the ass to constantly battle with...

Anyone know any? I've done the "google", installed many over time and found half to be wastes of time as they don't do a range of diagrams, are wrong, or take so long to use they're a waste of time.

Mainly for use case, class, activity / state and collaboration diagrams.

If you know of anything that fits, and as an added bonus, can run on windows or linux, it'd be much appreciated :D

Cheers ;)

Its commercial but cross platfom

**** Edit ****
Netbeans has a UML Modelling plugin. Netbeans is a great java IDE and has a open source UML plugin project. I havent used the plugin but its all free

Cheers Sleeper - looks like some of what I am after at least. Since i have an older netbeans ide, i'll be upgrading to 6.0 (stuck to eclipse recently as for some reason netbeans was incredibly slow - up to 15 seconds to compile a file :/).

Will also check the other one out as well, like I say - all the ones I find usually do one job... and poorly. Will try these, at least class diagrams look good :P

May end up having many applications, each for just one type perhaps

Cheers Beefy, but it shows plenty of modelling programs, but the problem remains the same.
What does what :D

They never say exactly what you can draw with the things, and most have no documentation either

I'll take a butchers at a few more though ;)

Sadly I have but one arse to gear up, and i've geared it with a streamline thong... theres too damned many of them

I've gone for one I've never heard of, and never used before (it's new) called Violet.

It's quite nice so far - JAVA program that they've made, lightweight and easy to use with the ability to Activity, Use Case, Object, State, Class and Sequence Diagrams.
