I have a few files that i recorded from a sattelite technomate box on an SD card) I want to take the AUDIO layer from it and convert to MP3 format how do i do it? - software? files are as following  _________________ ----------------------------------------

i'm unsure of that file format, is there an option to change file format on your box? as the question How do u convert... a video file to audio
the answer is 'very easily'  could you have not recorded using the audio out connections from the telly or box

is there not just a proggy that will record whatever i play in windows and turn it into an mp3??

Try downloading Audacity, set the record box to wave and it will record whatever your PC plays However it can only export to a WAV or OGG file, not MP3 However u cud export to wav and use itunes to convert to mp3  _________________  Diablo-X =GCHQ= wrote: you need to improve your jokes, making them funny is crucial,

Use Imtoo software aint free(but i think trial doesnt have limit on size etc) they have a whole loada stuff..........if you want i cud put it up on rapidshare if you need?

cheers for that recommendation tankass im converting as i write  seems to have done the trick ! cheers edit: it did 1 of 2 files .... weird..... it wont seem to encode the first file (.trp file) .. it says completed but the file is small and there is no sound on it .. duno why..the file still opens in media player classic if i change its extension to the same as the other file and also .mpg2 etc..apparently they are both mpg2 ... maybe its the file size it doesnt like (1.5GB)in which case... how can i reduce the size of the file? is there another one of those tools which will will convert that can split that video file in to 2 smaller video files? _________________ ----------------------------------------

try a gereal google search there's plenty of freeware stuff out there that will do the job........as for .trp file im not sure if the software handles that(although admittedly it says it does just bout anything on the website)

ok success... cheers strangelove them tools did the trick.. i now have a merged mp3 file deriving from 2 video files of NIN live oklahoma 2005...shame my storage device ran out of space at the last minute of the concert - GRRR LOL gonna try re-capture the start and end of the concert when its on again tomorrow and then merge it with what i have tomorrow _________________ ----------------------------------------
