i have my pc running nicely. i took the side off to clean it out and put a neon light in (because its funky ) i already have 3 in there but this one was a pulse neon to go with music (because i liked that idea) and when i turned my pc on... it started to boot then just shut off and would keep repeating this. i have seen unpluged the graphics card. still did it. tried unplugging all the harddrives along with the CD/DVD drive, didnt fix it. tried taking one ram stick out... didnt solve it, took the other out and it didnt solve it. the only things i cant change are the cpu, mobo, and power supply (because i have none spare) any ideas on how i could test each one? (or if simon could come round with his spares i would b greatful.) system specs P5k mobo 8800gtx graphics card 2gb corsair ram (2x1gb) 2 500gb harddrives (western digital) and a 250gb (samsung) E6750 2.66ghz processor (with zalman cooling) antec 850w psu (which i have had previous trouble with and got replaced.)

yeah mine was doing that. Is it just randomly doing it? Or when you do something in specific. Either way, my problem was a ground short. I put the wires for the front USB in the wrong way round. lol. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps. it does it when i push the power button... comes on for a second... shuts off for 2... then repeats till u switch it off at the back. i rewired my pc after this problem to give it better air flow and to make it look tidier... and have left usb/firewire unpluged and still does it.

Could be not enough power / knackered mobo. More likely you've wired something in wrong, or your CPU is loose.

Strip it down completely, put the minimum components in and take it from there...
