just got a shiny new pc with vista 64 on it. Loaded a few games onto it including the likes of cod5 and far cry 2. Weird thing is...they dont show up on the hard drive, its as if they arent there, yet when i get them running from putting the cd in they works (annoying bugs aside). Is my 1 day old hard drive dying is is this some kind of vista bug?
edit - also, when the pc first boots up..it says no hard drive found, no virtual hard drive found (or something very much like that). Obviously it HAS actually got a hard drive or i wouldnt be typing this. Very strange.

Yes, I see, did this start happening once you moved here from Iran?
Also, did you turn it off and on again?

you did remember to use an Irani to 220 volt adapter?
or you are not showing hidden files of some sort, not sure the equivilent in vista( or quite sure how to spell equvilent)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare
should be here for vista 64...

cheers Geoff....ive uninstalled and reinstalled quite a few games quite a few times....
for example, got fallout 3 installed at the mo, all it shows in the fallout3 folder is one single file called 'falloutlauncher-MCE' and nothing else.

it seems its a vista thing....im just so used to xp that im struggling to adapt. Not that cod5 is anymore reliable though. so far its worked about 1 in every 3 attempts. ho hum.
