I have just recently wanted to start gaming on my pc and not really the best when it comes to talking about it, but anyway I am hoping to purchase unreal tournament 3 soon and wondering if my graphic or video card will do the trick (I am not sure what I am calling it). but anyway i have a GeForce 8300 GS and was wondering if that would be good enought to play unreal 3 at a good enough quality and hopefully with out lag. if there is anything I should try and learn about my pc to help in my decision for a new graphics card or generally upgrading my computer, I would be grateful. thanks

That card is bottom of the range and two generations old. If you are buying the game anyway you may as well try it them upgrade afterwards. Then you will get a big smile having seen the money well spent.

guys, blackmane is a real life mate of mine, obviously doesn't trust me though as ive already told him that an 8800GS will do the job (found a suitable one on ebuyer for £76) yes, it's not the best card out there, but jamie is only after playing UT3 on half decent setting and WoW/CSS soo im pretty sure the 8800GS will do the job perfectly. only problem there is he'll most likely need a new PSU won't he? he's only got a standard ATX PSU (not sure what W it is though...) P.S. he sais his budget is around £110 slaps. EDIT: here's the card im suggesting: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139895---------------- Now playing: Parkway Drive - Horizonsvia FoxyTunes

yep, an 8800 gt would be the card i'd go for, but as stated, you need to find out if your motherboard is pci express, agp cards are quite hard to find now

PSU shouldn't be a problem if it's low-wattage and a good brand Otherwise.... Lur - have a look in Black Beauty's box and tell us what he's got with model numbers
