Marble has Nikon's I believe  I wouldn't worry about the pixel count that much, unless you are planning on great big prints.

Just looked at the Canon EOS 400D that Rainbow Dave's got that looks pretty good as well. Moneys in bank and only earning 2% interest  so might as well spend it. _________________

400D is a nice spec too.
Go and try them at a Jessops or similar before buying, I didn't like the feel of the 400D as much as a bigger camera - other than that it was great.
I guess you are planning on some different lenses so you need to look at the range/price of those as well.

Ah...
My Dad recently purchased this Camera...
if you want I can put you in contact with him he is still getting into grips with photography after a number of years... But he loves the camera.
He got 3 Differ lenses etc stand and all that jazz...
