Tried shit loads of stuff to get it working, every time I enable SLI it either crashes straight away or once it gets under stress, I start to notice static like interference once it's enabled as well, Tried swapping the cards around, all the text before windows had started was unreadable then the pc crashed when windows had loaded, take it this means my cards is broke?.
If so, can I get a better card and SLI that with my current working 8800gt, or do I have to SLI two identical cards?
cheers

Probably be better off getting one newer model, which should match your old sli, then save up for another one to sli with?

sounds like video ram is dodgy, as for sli, the 2 cards need to be the same model, but not identical.

ie a asus 8800gt will sli with a evga 8800gt, its recommended that both cards be the same spec, ie memory and clock speed. but they may still work if not, but only at the slower cards speed, but is not a sure thing.

Was that card one of the bfg cards? as they have a very good repair policy

Yeah it's out of warranty, So think I'll just get a new card, will I be able to use ATI, or will it require some new hardware? as the ATI ones seem to be pretty good at the moment, something like the ATI Radeon HD 5850 ?

I had an issue with one of my cards not working properly, swapped the slots and it turned out to be the mobo :? Check the fans on the card are clear of dust and that the power connectors are in tight. :bookworm:

Tried it, used some compressed air to get all the dust out and changed slots, just crashes when the dud card is in the main one.
