In the coming days and weeks.... big changes will sweep Gamecommunity.co.uk
This has been discussed between Rick and Myself and will be final.
There is nothing personal about it. It will be solely based around the members activity in GCHQ in the last 12 months.
This will compliment the tremendous work already being done by Caspius and will bring a true reflection on the 'active state of =GCHQ= members.
Some people will lose moderator status...some will lose Admin status...some will lose =GCHQ= member status, some already have.. its no big deal. If you chose to leave =GCHQ= because you feel unfairly done by..then all I can say is 'bon voyage'.
ok...so thats the =GCHQ= forum news.
On the games front.
A new lease of life to kickstart =GCHQ= back to the busy place it was over the last 5 years has appeared in the form of Battlefield Bad Company 2. The game has proved a lot of fun..even in its current state as a 'BETA' , even with its dumded down Graphics and incomplete optimisation. The retail game is due to be released in the first week in MARCH. Two versions are available, Normal and Limited. (extra unlocks)... if you shop around, you can find this at the same price.
To coincide with its release, =GCHQ= are proud to announce that we will have our own
32 player (yes so19, 32 player) Ranked Server up and running. This server will be run in Harcore mode and will be admined by =GCHQ=members, again selected by slappy and myself, based upon =GCHQ= activity and participation in the last few years.
As of last night, =GCHQ= also has Two to other Game Servers running.
COD World at war (hardcore)
COD Modern Warfare. (hardcore)
Details can be found in the server status forum from today .
Voice comms,
As of last night also, A public comms Server (ventrillo) is also available for general use.

Finally, I would like to say a big big thank you for a long serving member making this available...

Saying that, I , and I hope you aswell, will help in the funding of the game servers by making a Donation (doesn't matter how small/large (a donation button will appear very shortly) to the the upkeep of the servers and forum server.

Servers will obviously need tuning over the next few days, as for admins mod etc. i agree as we arnt running anywhere near the number of servers and mods we used to and there is limited admin spaces available on rented server so not possible to have everyone that we used to, besides it can be more fun just to play without have to constantly admin as well.
Anyway, enjoy and try to to break them
